Butane is a flammable, colourless liquefied gas.
Being heavier than air, a gas escape may accumulate in confined spaces, particularly at or below ground level.
Butane is commonly used as a lighter fuel and is bottled for use in heating and cooking. In its pure form, it is also used as a refrigerant.Long term exposure limit (8 hours TWA) 600ppm. Short term exposure limit (15 minutes) 750ppm.
