Detectors are set to alert at a pre-alarm level of 5% LEL and high-alarm of 10% LEL.

Therefore an installed gas control system that quickly and safely identifies any possible gas escape should be employed for the long term economic, environmental and safety benefit of the site.

Commercial
Monitoring for a gas leak with valve isolation is used as way of reducing identifiable risks. It is seen as a measure to help confirm the integrity of the installation and if a leak is detected to isolate the gas valve to prevent continual gas escape and to instigate an investigation and repair.
