Acetylene (C2H2)

Acetylene is a colourless lighter than air gas, with an odour of garlic when in its commercial form.

Due to acetylene being lighter than air, unused doesn’t gather in low areas reducing potential hazards. As such, It is the only fuel gas recommend for use in underground working conditions.

With extraction being used to remove any potentially dangerous products, including acetylene.

Welding, brazing, cutting and hardening are just some of the application acetylene is used for.

We can provide gas pressure proving for both acetylene and the oxygen line to confirm downstream integrity from a single panel and have seen it implemented in several colleges and workshops to reduce potential risk and confirm isolation and protection out of hours.
