AGDS-elite

The AGDS-elite is a modular, programmable, gas detection system capable of accepting up to 32 detectors (with the use of extension panels) for the monitoring of common and exotic gases with settable alarm for peak and time-weighted levels.

Car parks, battery stores, battery charging rooms, food processing, agricultural buildings, banks and secure buildings are all examples of where the AGDS-elite has been installed to provide a comprehensive level of gas detection.

Flexibility
The AGDS-elite has been designed to be as flexible as possible, whether it’s a simple installation requiring just one detector or a large distributed system with a mix of gas detector types, alarm settings and remote indications. The system will be preconfigured before supply and require fully commissioning by Medem engineers.

Optional programmable relay panels for use with BMS systems or remote indicators
Optional relay panels can be connected to the main panel and each extender (one per panel). Each relay panel had eight programmable relays.
Depending on the number of detectors and relay panels connected each detector could have one relay set to indicate status (either high, low or fault), or could have multiple relays set to indicate multiple conditions. There is also a “double knock” relay to indicate if any two detectors on this panel (main or extender) enter a high alarm state.

Product and Installation Guides

All our products come with a 5-year warranty
Medem’s industry leading five-year warranty is a demonstration of the company’s confidence in the quality and design of its products.
This applies to the main panels and sender units, gas detectors carry a 2-year warranty.

Why not let us install your system and receive a 10-year Warranty?
Where we’ve commissioned an installed system, the warranty is extended from five to ten years. At the time of commissioning, photos and gas pressure readings are recorded along with other relevant details of the installation. A 24-hour helpline number and the serial number is attached with the panel and all details are then entered on to the Medem database.

Gas Detection

Each panel (main and extenders) can except a maximum of eight gas detectors. The current range is:
Methane/Natural Gas (CH4), Propane (C3H8), Carbon Monoxide (CO), Carbon Dioxide (CO2), Oxygen – enrichment and depletion. (O2), Hydrogen (H), Hydrogen Sulphide, Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2), Nitric Oxide (NO), Ammonia (NH3), Acetylene (C2H2), Chlorine (CL), Acetylene (C2H2)

Coming soon will be Phosphine (PH3), Pentene (C5H10) detection.

Alarm Types

Each detector can be set to either a peak alarm or time-weighted average (TWA) and be set to either non-latching or latching with a programmable time to latch of between 1 & 59 seconds.

Peak Alarms

Can be set to any value with the particular gas detectors range (during the setup and commissioning by Medem engineers).
• Time Weighted Average (TWA) Alarms
• Three different TWA alarms can be set
(e.g. 5000ppm 10 secs, 3000ppm 2mins, 500ppm @10mins.)

Warranty

Medem’s industry-leading warranties are a demonstration of the company’s confidence in the quality and design of our products.

The system will be pre-configured before supply but will require full commissioning by a Medem engineer, following the commissioning the main panel will be issued with a 10-year warranty.

At the time of commissioning, photos and gas level readings are recorded along with other relevant details of the installation. A 24-hour helpline number and the serial number is attached with the panel and all details are then entered on to the Medem database.

Gas detectors carry a two-year warranty.

Service

The panel and sensors must be re-commissioned and tested every 12 months as a minimum but with consideration of every 6 months dependant on gas type and environment. This isn’t just a bump test but the application of calibrated gas to the sensors and using a Medem ‘claim board’ to either calibrate or confirm sensor accuracy.

Medem offers cost-effective yearly service plan options which include detector exchange to assist in service budgeting.
